Decimals / Floats
Since python doesn't have an infinite amount of memory it uses tricks and approximations to store floats which can lead to strange behaviors:
1.2 - 1.0 # 0.19999999999999996
round(1.2 - 1.0, 2) # 0.2
[!WARNING] Always be cautious when working with floats
The decimal module
getcontext(): the settings that are applied to the Decimal class
from decimal import Decimal, getcontext
getcontext().prec = 4
print(getcontext()) # Context(prec=4, rounding=ROUND_HALF_EVEN, Emin=-999999, Emax=999999, capitals=1, clamp=0, flags=[], traps=[InvalidOperation, DivisionByZero, Overflow])
Decimal(1) / Decimal(3) # 0.3333
Decimal(3.14) # 3.140000000000000124344978758017532527446746826171875
# ^^^^ This is the actual representation of how 3.14 is stored in python
Decimal('3.14') # 3.14
