Why most ethical hackers prefer Kali Linux over parrot OS

We all know that parrot OS offer more tools then Kali Linux and more pre-installed softwares like tor airgedon etc.. which are not pre-installed in kali then why most people prefer kali over parrot.

I suggest you take some time to look over the git repo for each project.

What you will see looking at Kali is Debian is the base operating system. Kali is a layer on top of that which changes configurations, default installed packages, and layers on top of that some packages that are not stored in the default Debian repo. In other words, Kali is a derivative of Debian, and listed on the Debian website with all the other derivatives.

This makes a ton of sense, as Debian is very solid operating system so why invent the wheel. Instead, Kali can just focus on using that existing work, throwing in some of their own, and optimizing it for hacking.

Look over the Parrot git, and what you will see is Kali is the number one developer for Parrot. Most of the packages in the parrot git are copied over from Kali. Parrot is simply a derivative of Kali in the same way Kali is a derivative of Debian. Parrot is simply taking from Kali, modifying things to different UI and what packages are installed by default, and calling it a new OS. Pretty much the same thing you can do with Kali's livebuild.

This is what always kills me about some of the things people say in here. Do you not ever look at the git? Do you not pay attention? People say things like Parrot is faster or more stable or its faster or has more tools, it's the same operating system. Whats in Parrot is what's in Kali. Its the same thing. There might be a few tools here and there which are not in the Kali or Debian repos, but they are not significant enough to matter when you are doing actual work. And I suppose if you don't know how to install anything that is not already installed by default sure I can get why having everything out of the box matters. But take the time to learn the single line command to install things. It's not that hard.

Honestly, spend some time in this sub and actually spend some time checking and following up on what people say and what you see is that most people here are repeating misinformation they heard someone else say. Inaccurate and false things are accepted as fact and then passed down to the next set of n00bs that comes along. Its like everyone here is taking a copy of copy to the point where the original can't even be seen anymore.

Lets answer the question directly - Most people prefer Kali because it has been around forever (before Kali it was backtrack), has a long ass history of working, being stable, and giving back to the community. It has outperformed and outlasted a ton of other hacking focused distros that were not Kali derivatives like pentoo, backbox and others. And its documented so people that care can take a few moments and answer their own damn questions when they have them. I personally don't see any reason to use the off-brand hacker operating system.
